Stand Up Stand Out is a migrant youth-led movement powered by Citizens UK. We believe that by training, developing and building the power of our young we can advance the cause of the entire community.

Who We Are

Stand Up Stand Out is a migrant youth-led movement powered by Citizens UK, the biggest alliance of civic institutions across the UK including schools, universities, faith institutions, trade unions and charities campaigning together on the issues of social justice.  We organise and address issues of inequality and racism for the dignity and fair treatment of migrant youth and families, regardless of their immigration status.

Our Mission

We seek to address the inequities and obstacles faced by immigrant youth and train young leaders to be capable of winning significant change for our communities. We believe that by building the power of our young we can advance the cause of the entire community.

We are driven by and accountable to the thousands of members across the country who make up our sustainable and robust grassroots organisation. We build power by organising at the local, regional, and national levels and provide the training, tools and resources to support our leaders and member institutions to bring about social justice for the common good.

How We Work

We build and win timely political campaigns such as 1000b4Xmas action, taking on racist landlords, campaigning against hate speech in the press and issues of irregular status including access to citizenship, deportation, detention and family separation. All of this is lead by migrant youth who have been trained in the craft of community organising.
